Museum of Marble Handicraft in Pyrgos (Island of Tinos) 2002-2004

The museum with a surface aprox. of 2000 sq. m. has been designed and constructed as a natural sequence of the landscape.

A solid form – building following the construction of the stone walls, typical elements of Pyrgos countryside. The natural and the artificial light has been studied and given in such a way to make the most of the exhibits, and in the same time to cover the functional needs of the building.

The construction materials of the building are concrete, stone, marble, metal and glass.

Conceptual design, draft design, final and detailed design: Iason Kavallinis, Nikos Venianakis. Studied in 2002-4 Constructed, concluded and inaugurated in 2008.
